      • Shropshire - Tibberton 72 Acre - Aces of Spades Metal Detecting8:30 am - 4:00 pmSATURDAY - On this dig we will be on a new farm that is just outside of Cherryington and Tibberton, we will have 72 acres of undetected land that has been well cultivated. This field is just down the road from the next cherryington field dig, which on the test produced a couple of bits of roman so hopefully they ventured in this direction ?? and it's within a half a mile of the 10th century Moat and 15th century manor house. I did have a quick test and there were loads of signals including the late Georgian enamelled harness stud ? This event is open as the field is that big, please show your NCMD card to one of the admin on arrival £20 per detectorist under 16s are free, arrivals from 7.30am and we'll set you off at 8.30am.     great location the village itself is from the 4th century the farm consists of a 14 century house and barn.
    church very close to the site
    The village is part of the "Black and white village trail", having many timber-framed buildings along its high street. Recent dendrochronology dating work on timbers in these buildings has revealed that some parts date back to the 14th century
    the village was largely constructed and inhabited and became a trading town as it became significant during what was known as the 1 day March and has two castles within the vicinity.

    This field is at the otherside of the manor house and Moat, right in the village, going down the lane to it we go past 5-6 black and white houses dating back 500 years, so hopefully plenty of history still in the land. ?
    This event is limited to 80 detectorists, and please show your NCMD card to one of the admin on arrival. £20 per detectorist under 16s are free, arrivals from 7.30am and we'll set you off at 8.30am

    SUNDAY - Village hall Fundraiser Dig!
    Last year we held an event which helped raise funds that went towards the renovations of the halls kitchen and bathroom facilities. This year we have been invited back to help raise more funds to the halls renovations.
    Local history….
    The village dates back to the domesday book and many of the current dwellings were built in the early 1600s. Our last visit the fields offered up plenty of milled coinage and a few hammered coins and artefacts.

    4 areas of land to search around the village
    30+ acres of new land all in short grass.
    30+ acres of old land to search if you wish. All in short grass.
    The Day
    8am -8.45am Arrival
    Please meet at the village hall.
    Free breakfast rolls,tea and coffee served to 8.45am . Easy parking for all.
    Dig starts 9am with briefing outside the hall at 8.55am
    12.30-1.30pm
    -Display table for finds- please hand in any finds for display in the hall so locals can see what we have found so far. You will get them back end of the day.
    - Free Hot food will be served (veg chilli and hotpot) along with tea and coffee and biscuits.

    - Raffle will be drawn at the hall
    (Tickets £5 and can be purchased all day in the hall)
    Tuck shop open throughout the day for you all. There’s also a pub facing the hall serving ice cold beers ?

    This event will be slightly different to what your used to but will be a fantastic day to showcase our hobby.

    New field is over 20 acr and we revisit field ,on first dog ot was long stable now is fresh sedd so perfect to walk on them!
    Start at 9 a.m. end at 4 p.m.
    12 p.m. barbecue and raffle of prizes from the sponsor, RUTUS.
    in the morning there is always coffee or a glass of homemade vodka waiting for you.
    the lottery ticket is only 1f and the prizes are really great!!!

    SATURDAY - On this dig we will be on a new farm that is just outside of Cherryington and Tibberton, we will have 72 acres of undetected land that has been well cultivated. This field is just down the road from the next cherryington field dig, which on the test produced a couple of bits of roman so hopefully they ventured in this direction ?? and it's within a half a mile of the 10th century Moat and 15th century manor house. I did have a quick test and there were loads of signals including the late Georgian enamelled harness stud ? This event is open as the field is that big, please show your NCMD card to one of the admin on arrival £20 per detectorist under 16s are free, arrivals from 7.30am and we'll set you off at 8.30am.
